About

I am passionate about using sound to create immersive auditory experiences in film, television, video games, and all kinds of music. My goal is to design high quality sound that, is not only original but also innovative and experimental. My audio vision transports audiences to new worlds and enhances the visual storytelling of any project I touch.

My curiosity about sound started early on when I was an adolescent. I was very attuned to the sound around me, and I always found reasons to use random objects as musical instruments and listen to soundtrack music. During my middle school and high school years, I played the clarinet (primary inst.). Then, out of curiosity and boredom, I learned how to play the tenor saxophone (jazz band), the trumpet (marching band), the mellophone (a marching French horn), and the bass clarinet. Through this experience, I developed a deep appreciation for the complexity and nuance of musical sound, which greatly informs my approach to sound design today.

Beyond music, I have a natural curiosity about how sound works in the world around us. From the way different objects resonate to the sounds of nature, I am constantly exploring new ways to incorporate these sounds into my work and push the boundaries of what is possible with sound.

During my education, I dedicated myself to comprehensively understanding the intricacies of sound and its role in our world, both artistically and scientifically. The realm of sound knows no bounds; it possesses the potential to be shaped in unconventional ways, surprising even the most imaginative minds. Its influence extends beyond the auditory, as it holds the capacity to both physically and emotionally immerse and affect us deeply.

Overall, my passion for sound design is driven by a desire to show people what sound is capable of and create immersive experiences that transport and inspire audiences. With a strong foundation in musical and technical aspects of sound design, I am dedicated to utilizing my skills and expertise to push the boundaries of what is possible with sound and bring my perspective to every project I work on.

My Goal

My passion for sound design is rooted in a love for music and a deep appreciation for the power/science of sound to transform a plain, regular experience into a memorable one. With a background in wind instruments, audio engineering, and sound design, I have developed a keen ear for melody, harmony, and rhythm, which informs my approach to sound design in entertainment.

Whether working on sound for a film or creating music, my ultimate goal is to create immersive experiences that transport audiences to new worlds and elicit powerful emotions. I am constantly experimenting with sound, pushing the boundaries of what is possible to craft unique and captivating soundscapes that amplify music and enhance film's visual storytelling.

I aim to work for and deliver high-quality sound work to those as passionate about giving the audience a fantastic listening experience as I am. My commitment lies in creating memorable and emotionally charged experiences that endure, leaving a lasting resonance that transcends the moment and lingers in the hearts and minds of the audience.

My Audio Vision

Music has become my way of bridging the gap between reality and fantasy. I have manipulated sound in fascinating ways, yet it remains something that cannot be seen or explained in a way that makes sense. Letting go of it all in moments of extreme emotion and carelessness never disappoints me. I continue striving to push my audio vision to new extremes. There is no instant gratification, perfection, or harsh judgment—only pure creativity. What you hear is what you hear; what you see is beyond understanding, but I comprehend it. There are glimpses of what can be seen through the eyes and heard through the ears but are only visible through the mind.

Perception of Sound

Any sound event isn't always seen through the eyes but is heard through the ears, causing a slight disruption of thought.

Capture that sound with your mind through your ears. Listen to it in your head. The sounds are clear and accurate compared to the source material. The longer you haven't heard that sound (around 20 seconds or more), the easier it is to create a variety of thoughts that complement what you've recently processed.

Sound is often overlooked because you cannot search for what you cannot see. The unknown remains unknown, exceptionally when executed skillfully.

It is an imaginary spectacle of magic, with no visible destination and no telling where it may go.

I am slowly inching toward an interesting hypothesis: if sound is usually unseen, how far can it go before it becomes unfathomable?

Every day, people cannot truly perceive the sound around them. It is not subtly looked for, and the mind doesn’t prioritize anything that seems insignificant over daily habits or routines—until it is observed while actively listening.

Focusing on the most minor sounds in the world is a gift. The ability to isolate a sound within a complex listening environment can help bridge the gap between what is, what isn’t, and what could be—creating an audio vision and expanding thoughts with an ensemble of creative ideas.

I am incredibly introspective. All I ever do is listen. I want to treat this passive ability like a habitual routine. I can reach into my inner thoughts and feelings, expressing them in a language I can understand.
